July 13, 2020: COVID-19 Safety Plan
I want to thank all of my amazing clients for their trust and the privilege to be training with you and your dogs. I am grateful to each of you for returning to classes over the past few weeks and for being so thoughtful and kind. As we carry on, safety continues to be my number one priority. As the current COVID-19 situation continues to change, updates to my safety policies and procedures may also be adjusted as needed.
Stay home if you have any symptoms of illness, have been in contact with a person with symptoms of illness or if you may have been exposed to the virus or confirmed with the virus.
Do not come to class if you have recently traveled outside of the province, or to anywhere experiencing an outbreak or ongoing community transmission of COVID-19.
The training facility and classes remain closed to all but registered clients attending at their scheduled times. Clients should plan to arrive alone if possible, unless accompaniment is required.
Upon arrival, clients are to wait at their vehicle and an instructor or assistant will come to get you when ready.
A face mask that covers your nose and mouth will need to be worn by anyone coming into the indoor training space. When outdoors, masks should be worn when there is a possibility of being in close proximity to others. You will need to supply your own face mask. If you are unable to wear a mask for any reason, please ask me about online learning opportunities I may have scheduled.
Physical distancing of at least 2 meters (6 feet) from others is to be practiced at all times both indoors and outdoors. Avoid standing less than 2m/6ft from any entry/exit points.
Wash hands or hand sanitize at the beginning and end of class, and frequently in between. A hand washing station and/or alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available near the door.
Updates to Class:
Class formats have been updated and some online class options have been added.
Registration and payments are currently accepted online only
Cleaning and disinfection protocols have been enhanced
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to working with you and your dogs!
May 25, 2020: Scent Work classes to resume
Scent Work classes are in the process of restarting! I am looking forward to welcoming clients back with CYDT’s COVID-19 Action Plan in place to include Provincial and WorkSafeBC guidelines for public health and safety.
Here’s a list of some of the changes to scent work classes:
- Physical distancing will be practiced at all times
- Scent work classes may include in-person and online components
- Class may be divided into shorter time slots with fewer students
- Class may take place indoors or outdoor. When indoors, only one dog/handler at a time will come into the training area
- Handwashing and/or hand sanitizing stations will be available
- I have amped up the already thorough cleaning/disinfecting routine
- At this time masks are a personal choice. Physical distancing must still be practiced by all if masks are worn.
Clients with prepaid classes will have priority followed by clients on the waiting list. If you are not already on my notification list for upcoming classes and would like to be included, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your patience and continued support. I have missed everyone and their dogs and look forward to seeing you again soon!
MARCH 18, 2020: Classes postponed until further notice
In the interest of public health and safety, all in-person classes are on hold and the training facility remains closed. Thank you for your support and understanding as we all do our part to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
